Thanks so much to our lovely audience for coming to our 5th anniversary concert on March 21st. We can’t believe its been 5 years – we’ve sung such a range of amazing music over the years, from the Bulgarian folk song Ergen Deda, to Will Todd’s Mass in Blue, gospel favourite Total Praise, James Taylors Shed a Little Light and Lars Janson’s  epic To the Mothers in Brazil. Wednesday was packed full of variety – we opened with our specially commissioned piece, the beautiful and emotive Requiem, by composer Benny Lee (which is sure to become a choral classic). We also performed Karl Jenkin’s amazing And the Mother Did Weep, Adele’s brilliant When We Were Young, and closed the show with the wall of sound that is Baba Yetu,by Christopher Tin,

Thanks to the amazing young musicians from the local Suzuki Hub, led by Kate Conway, who were our guest performers – and collaborated on our version of What the World Needs Now – you were staggeringly professional and proficient on your instruments, you are all stars.

Finally, we’re incredibly proud to be able to support charities locally and internationally. This term’s concert raised £374 for Ingeenium, a local participatory play charity founded by one of our sopranos, Jessica Boatright.   That means in the past 5 years we have raised over £15,000 for charity (£15,013.64 to be exact!).

To all our singers past and present, you’re brilliant, thanks for making our choir special.
